Copper(II) Complexes of a New Hydrazones with Aliphatic Groups: Synthesis, Characterisation and Nuclease Activity

Two new copper(II) complexes of bidentate arylhydrazone ligands have prepared and studied. Elemental analysis, SEM-EDS, thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), a number spectroscopic techniques were used to determine the structures compounds (FTIR, UV-Vis, 1H 13C-NMR). Using agarose gel electrophoresis, DNA cleavage activities produced copper investigated in absence presence hydrogen peroxide. It was also influence compound dose on process. The results show that an oxidant agent, all break pBR322 DNA. At concentration 10 µM, [Cu(L1)2] converted supercoil into two forms, while formed only nicked form. mechanistic analyses active oxidative species for breakage is generated by peroxide metal. cleaveged H2O2, marginally.
